BEST DUNE EVER: DUNE DU PILAT

The Dune of Pilat (french: Dune du Pilat, official name), also called Grande Dune du Pilat, is the tallest sand dune in EURI. It is located in TESTE-DE-BUCH in the Arcachon bay area, approximately 60 km southwest of BORDEAUX. 

Go there early in the mornings, otherwise it is very crowded :-)

Or try to see the sunset - it is STUNNING!!!!!

 

BEST RESTAURANT WITH A VIEW

LA COORNICHE, PYLA SUR MER

If you want to go to a restaurant with probably the most AMAZING view, you should go to LA COORNICHE. It is quite expensive, but the food is good quality, so definetly worth going there.

 

BEST BEACH: MIMIZAN PLAGE

If you want to see an endless beach, which is not so crowded and has the best waves ever, MIMIZAN PLAGE could probably be the best spot for you. MIMIZAN is an easy going, quite quiet place, where you could feel the SURF and which is not as overrun as Hossegor or Lacaunau, which are also fantastic places (and good for partying).

 

BEST PLACE FOR A NIGHT IN A VINEYARD

For us the best place to stay for a night in a vineyard is the Chateau Prieure Marquet.

If you are into a prestigous, peaceful stay with EXCELLENT vine, even better dinner and a fantastic view, this place is probably the best. It is a small place with roundabout 10 bedrooms and the service is excellent. Its pretty close to all the big names like SAINT EMILION, POMEROL, e.g. - so you will definetly find something to do during the day, whilst in the evening we recommend hanging out in the garden, having a glass or two and enjoying in the fantastic homemade dinner.

ARCACHON

We highly recommend ARCACHON, a little seaside resort.

The 4 districts are named after the seasons. The district of Ville d'Été (Summer Town) is well-known for its shopping streets and the largest sandy beach. Ville d'Hiver (Winter Town) has extravagant 19th century mansions and we can only recommend it - you will love the architecture it has special charme, which is not easy to describe. So at least a one-day trip to ARCACHON is a must, but if you could stay for 2 or 3 nights, there is nothing wrong about it.
